The UK Cabinet Office has published a new Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) strategy for government titled: Government ICT Strategy: Smarter, cheaper, greener. (Ref: 299388 / 0110, January 2010, 65 pages). The Cabinet Office has also published a revised version of the Open Source, Open Standards and Re-Use: Government Action Plan. (9 pages) The Minister of State for the Cabinet Office, Angela Smith in the Forward states: “Since our last open source strategy was published in February 2009 we have been listening closely to the market and now this refresh addresses a number of the issues raised by experts in this field. Our refreshed open source strategy addresses these key points and sets out what we need to do to take full advantage of the benefits of open source, open standards and reuse.”
