Subj3ct is an infrastructure technology for Web 3.0 applications. These are applications that are organised around subjects and semantics rather than documents and links. Subj3ct provides the technology and services to enable Web 3.0 applications to define and exchange subject definitions.

The knowlet is a compact, dynamic, adaptive, semantic, topological unit of knowledge constructed out of connected concepts – a ‘concept cloud’ – representing knowledge about a given concept (the knowlet’s ‘core’ concept) by showing not only the connections of this ‘core’ concept with other concepts, but also the nature as well as the strength of those connections (‘associative distance’ in so-called multidimensional vector space).

Syntactic Web is a phrase meant to describe the current, mostly HTML-based World Wide Web, in order to distinguish it from the Semantic Web, a concept in which web pages carry information that can be read and understood by machines in a systematic way. The term stems from the contrast between syntax, which is the mechanics of a language used to convey information, and semantics, which is the actual meaning of that information.

The system allows you to automatically "wikify" a text. Very briefly, starting with a document (in text or html format), Wikify! will add Wikipedia-like tags throughout the document. For instance, in this particular webpage, we could link the keyword "Wikipedia" to its corresponding definition page that explains what "Wikipedia" is, we could also link the earlier mentioned concept "tag" to the correct definition, and so on.
