The One Laptop per Child non-profit develops a low-cost laptop—the "XO Laptop"—to revolutionize how we educate the world's children. Our mission is to provide educational opportunities for the world's poorest children by giving each child a rugged, low-cost, low-power, connected laptop; and software tools and content designed for collaborative, joyful, self-empowered learning.

The Metalab is a hacker space in Vienna, Austria -- an open center for people who do creative things with technology.

Wikipediavision is a site that shows in semi-realtime where anonymous edits to Wikipedia are originating from.[1][2][3] It was launched in the fall of 2007 by László Kozma, at that time a student in Finland.[4][5] The site combines Wikipedia's recent changes feed with Google Maps for 2D view to visualize the location-based service edits.[6][7]

Syntactic Web is a phrase meant to describe the current, mostly HTML-based World Wide Web, in order to distinguish it from the Semantic Web, a concept in which web pages carry information that can be read and understood by machines in a systematic way. The term stems from the contrast between syntax, which is the mechanics of a language used to convey information, and semantics, which is the actual meaning of that information.

London-GTUG is a London-based non-profit developers group to learn, share and know more about Google technologies. The group was started by a group of Google fans and enthusiasts who are interested in using Google's evolving technologies and APIs.
The membership is open to newbies, developers, managers and organizations who are interested in Google's technologies or use them as part of their projects.

The Bay Area News Project will be a nonprofit, nonpartisan publicly supported news organization. In collaboration with two highly respected Bay Area journalism institutions, KQED and the University of California, Berkeley, its mission is to create an open dialogue about civic and community news in the Bay Area through best-in-class, original journalism.
